A lovely french drawer painted, glazed a pale pink, some old bottles, old books, wrapped in lace, and a rusty spring, instant vignette.

An old rake, rusty and all, just paint it white, distressed, and it becomes an instant organizer. just lovely,

Brimfield finds

Dear friends:

Brimfield is so big and full of great finds, its overwhelming:











































Brimfield has 5000 dealers and they set up by fields, it is overwhelming, however, if you are looking for the unusual, you will find it there,  Brimfield is a favorite of the famous, J Crew, Anthro, and others buyers go very early in the morning and clean up buying for their stores.  Last year, someone spotted several stars from California at one of the most famous fields.

I personally only saw the store buyers, you can always tell because they are fast.

It is a beautiful show and you need five days all day if you want to see it all.

I finally went to the SUPERSTORE,  how great.



Dear Friends:

If you like bargains, this is your store, mailorder or in person.  Caution, wear comfortable shoes,
get a trolley, and go with help if you take little ones.  You will do a lot of walking.  Great for parents and kids, lots of fun.  These are cute lanterns.

Happy Wednesday

Hello friends:

Some trends I like, some are just trends, they come and go.  Today's inspiration is a little bit of this and that.  Let me know which trend you like.






  "Umbre"  trend.




  Paint some furniture "a la
Jackson  Pollock style",  so unique and easy to do, use a toothbrush, different all brushes and its done.

Its hard to open a magazine, or attend a flea market without seeing the latest trend, this...




I discovered this car from Sarah Wilson and Allen Hemberger, they worked on it for a while and this is the finish process.

Here are some of the details, first they found it on Craig's List. this guy was selling two furniture carts.

This is absolutely gorgeous, usually you pay $700.00  for one of these or more.  It is a lot of hard work but much cheaper,  great job guys.

This is my favorite trend, I can live with this in my Living room, it has character, beauty, a conversation piece, very few people have a coffee table like this, and it makes your home unique, and best of all YOU MADE IT, not Pottery Barn, or Restoration Hardware, YOU DID IT.

Something new

Hi friends:

Today is a new finds hunt day.  We love hunting for objects, furniture, pictures, anything others throw away, we love to bring home, friends, family and neighbors problably call us "hoarders" like on the tv show, but this is not true. We are recyclers of good junk, some of us use the furniture or items, some of us sell it on garage sales, the internet, or at flea markets. Some of us give the stuff to our families and friends who love antiques, retro, or vintage items. Some of us keep  everything because we love items with character, stories, good for our crafts, and because... We are all a community of people who love used items. I personally very seldom buy anything new, I don't like poor construction, and really why buy when you can get free????  or if you go to yard sales for very little.  My limit at these sales is $2,00. or free.  I post before that if you go towards the end of these sales, people are tired and they give it away, great tip for you. Some of these items live in our basements, attics, or in our homes.

It is a great way to recycle and, give new life to vintage and antiques.  Sometimes, not so old items.

Here is our Tuesday inspiration, a short post today, girls, I have to run,
 A nice vignette with found items, pine cones, a milk bottle, a bunch of old books, and an old mirror, painted white.
 I bet you all have a french chair, our "trend" hemp sack pillow, a couple of old suitcases, the mannequin, a neat rug, and voila great corner.
love the white floors and the fireplace in the bedroom, so romantic.
