CHALK PAINT VIDEO

Hello Friends:

To add to my series on "How to paint with Chalk Paint"  "Learning from Kate's mistakes"  remember my post two days ago.  Today, I finished the two shelves, tomorow, I will wax and distress.  Watch the pictures.

FLEA MARKET FINDS AND BRIMFIELD WEEK

Hello friends:

Yesterday was a Flea market day and new finds. This week the biggest flea market in the East Coast starts  "Brimfield"  Check the blog for great pictures, we are planning to go and it promisses to be great.

Here are some great flea market finds:
an adorable little linen piece from Belgium.

A great print from France.

Two of these lamps, so industrial they are great for a study.

Great antique quilt in good condition. perfect for the guess bedroom.

A nice little trunk, she wanted too much, I didn't get it.

These are great, I got one, I plan to frame it, cheap and very old.
The Brimfield market is next I cann't wait.  Please send me comments about your yard sales, flea market, estate sales, I will publish your comments.

Anyway, I see if I can find you one, there is an antique shop here she sells them for 20.00 let me know and I can get you one.They are all wood, large and white. martha

Great pictures! I love using oars too and I think they are very romantic and unexpected in the bedroom. I have one above the t.v. in my living room and love it there too.

DO YOU GET TO GO TO BRIMFIELD?? Last year they saw MS, Ophra, and more of the big decorators, like from HGTV, and Country Living, I didn't see any of them, but maybe this year.

For real "trash to treasures" with the Chalk Paint



Hello friends:

This is truly a trash to treasure chest with chalk paint, and notice the book pages, I love this piece, the details, an excellent job. it was done by Gloria at "Potentially Beautiful",

The pictures below are from Virginia Weathersby's  house. Virginia is the stockist for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint through  The Southern Institute of Faux Finishes, in Brandon, Mississipi.
She has 25 years of experience doing faux painting.  I am very impressed with her portfolio.  She will send you an origami recipe every time you order or another related item.  She is a master teacher.  Please go to her blog, and learn from Virginia.  Remember  NO PRIMER, NO SANDING, JUST apply the paint, then the wax, then if you want distress your piece, you can do that, but if you just like it plain, its beautiful also.  Now if you want to do something more interesting, watch this ,video  .http://www.youtube.com/user/VirginiaWeathersby

This is the drawer I painted with Provence, and the two old black shelves.

The drawer took one coat, and white wax. I didn't want to distress it. I like it this way, it has a sheen after waxing it.

These are the shelves, they were black, they took two coats of Provence, I'm still working on them, they have not been waxed or distressed yet.


My drawer with my own shell knobs, I love the contrast.

We all love the Shabby Chic look, country french furniture, the chalk paint is designed to transform a piece of furniture into a french shabby chic look alike.
Here is some inspirations pictures to get us in the mood, to start our series on painting with this great paint, I will give you some tips from my own mistakes, I'm still learning,  I did a beautiful picture frame in Louis Blue, and two shelves in Provence.
